I
found all three of these species in the Galeras mountains,
between Ecuador's Rio Napo and Volcan Sumaco, at elevations
around 1700 m. They differ not only in color but in shape
of the lip callus, and shape and color of leaves. There is
only supposed to be one Psilochilus in Ecuador. The
existence of three species in one small area suggests that
the genus is seriously under-collected. I have found additional
species in the Cordillera del Condor.
